An apparently ordinary 16-year-old boy turns out to have magical powers that make him a target of a covert society of wizards, enchanters, and warriors called the Weir. Jack's small-town world in Ohio begins to unravel when he starts to unleash unintentional bursts of wizardry. When he recovers a powerful sword from an ancestor's grave, he begins to realize how different he really is.I really enjoyed this book. and more impressed still that it was her first one. Plenty of action and twists and turns to keep ya thinkin'. I'd suggest it to anyone who likes fantasy novels.

This sounds like a good read! You are going to have to tell me how you have time to be a wife, mommy, digi scrapper, designer and have time to read!!!
Bless you for saying so Steph. I love to have a bath before bed and that's when I read. It helps me unwind from all that wonderful other stuff and helps me sleep better.
I'm going to have to putthis (and a couple of others you've done on here) in my "to read" list.
